New Stuff This Week!

A little late in announcing the changes this week due to our little trip to the Birmingham NEC, but better late than never:

So what's new this week?

RSS Feeds for Personal Gardening Journals
We have (finally!) rolled out the first of our gardener RSS feeds - so you can now follow the adventures of your favourite folians in the comfort of your very own feed reader. To find the RSS feed, look out for the orange RSS button in the top right hand corner of the gardener pages.

Retailer Pages
You'll now notice that your retailers are now in fully hyperlinked glory - you can now find out who else is growing plants from the same little nursery, garden centre or market stall that you bought it from. Check out Johnny's Seeds for a great example.

Improved Plant Classifier
We've added some tweaks here and there to improve the plant classifier - it should be even easier to find your plant now.

Groups Recommender
We've also added a little bit of magic to the groups pages to highlight groups that we think you might be interested in - check out the right side panel on the Groups home page for your own personal recommendations.

My Profiles on Other Sites
Over on your profile edit page, you'll now find some extra options to let folians know who you are on other sites.

..and the usual little surprises around the site that we'll leave you all to find!

Road Trip 2008 - First Stop BBC Gardeners World!

We’re going on a mini road trip to spread the MyFolia word and our first stop is BBC Gardeners World Live! We’ll be up there on the Saturday (14th June) wandering around, showing off our spanky new MyFolia shirts, handing out a few bits and bobs and generally getting the word out about the site.So if you’re going, look out for us - you can’t miss us - and come say hello. We’d love to meet you!

Experiencing a little bit of downtime tonight...

Hey all,

Sorry about the downtime we've had tonight, we are currently sorting through some server space
issues with our hosting provider. We are completely on the case, and we'll keep you updated as we go.

p.s. All of your garden data is absolutely, completely safe and sound.

Update: We've almost sorted the issues out - we'll be up (and stable) quite soon. We might be a little up-and-down over the next couple of minutes. Hold tight!

Update 2: We are back up and running!

Hello Kim Komando Show fans!

The site is currently running very hot today as we have been featured as Cool Site of the Day on the The Kim Komando Show!

We’d just like to let everyone know that we are working like busy bees to keep the site up and running with the increased traffic – I think we are doing quite well so far, but we will be keeping a very close eye on things today to keep everything running smoothly.

Anyway – we’d like to say a big welcome to all our brand new gardeners. Hope you like the site!
